Over 39,000 ticketless passengers fined as railway recovers ₹2.66 Crore in special checking drive
Ferozepur, May 15, 2025: Under the directives of the Railway Headquarters, the Ferozepur Division has launched a special ticket checking drive, which began on April 22 and will continue until May 21, 2025. The campaign is being conducted under the leadership of Divisional Railway Manager Sanjay Sahu and is spearheaded by Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Parmdeep Singh Saini.
So far, the drive has resulted in revenue collection of over ₹2.66 crore from more than 39,000 passengers found traveling without valid tickets or violating railway norms. The ticket checking teams are actively inspecting major trains including the Ganga Sutlej Express, Firozpur-Patna Summer Special, Malwa Superfast Express, Amrapali Express, Amritsar-Howrah Mail, Begampura Express, Saharsa Garib Rath Express, Jammu Tawi Express, and Sachkhand Express.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Parmdeep Singh Saini has urged passengers to travel with valid tickets, maintain proper queues while boarding and deboarding trains, use QR-enabled digital payment options, avoid carrying inflammable items, use foot over bridges (FOBs) to change platforms, and carry valid ID proofs during their journey.
He further stated that the ticket checking drive will continue across all lines of the division to ensure passenger safety and revenue protection.
