Himachal CM Sukhu pays tribute to Martys awarded Kirti Chakra and Shaurya Chakra

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), May 23, 2025: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed deep pride and respect for two brave sons of Himachal Pradesh who were posthumously awarded the prestigious Kirti Chakra and Shaurya Chakra by President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi on Thursday evening.
He stated that these honors reflect the courage, sacrifice, and indomitable spirit of the people of Himachal Pradesh.
Gunner Nayak Dilwar Khan (28) from Gharwasda village in Una district and Havildar Rohit Kumar Negi (23) from Taranda village in Kinnaur district received these posthumous awards for their supreme sacrifices in the line of duty.
The Chief Minister said the entire state stands united in paying tribute to these martyrs.He noted that Himachal Pradesh has always been known as "Veer Bhoomi" (Land of the Brave), with its soldiers historically at the forefront of protecting the nation’s borders.
The bravery and dedication of these martyrs inspire not only the youth of Himachal but the entire nation. Such national-level recognition is a proud moment for every Himachali, he added.
