Amritsar (Punjab), May 27, 2025: Following the bomb blast that occurred on Tuesday morning in the Majitha Road Bypass area of Amritsar, Punjab NRI Affairs Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal issued a strong statement condemning the incident.
He alleged that Pakistan is actively trying to disrupt peace and law and order in Punjab but asserted that the government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will deliver a strong response to such anti-national elements and thwart any malicious intentions.
“Pakistan is making every effort to destabilize Punjab’s peace, but the state government will never allow such nefarious plans to succeed,” said Dhaliwal. He also criticized opposition parties for politicizing such serious matters, calling it “highly inappropriate and irresponsible.”
The blast, which took place around 9:30 AM, led to the death of one individual, who authorities believe may have been associated with the banned terrorist group Babbar Khalsa.
According to initial reports, both arms of the deceased were blown off in the explosion. At first, the incident was considered to be a case of accidental handling of explosive material.

Bomb disposal teams and law enforcement agencies promptly reached the location to begin an investigation. The injured individual was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries.A government spokesperson later informed news agency ANI that the deceased was suspected of having terrorist links.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident to determine whether there was a broader terrorist connection behind the blast.
