Bahrain, May 28, 2025 — Member of Parliament Satnam Singh Sidhu met with members of the Indian Sikh community in Bahrain during his recent visit, where he listened to their emotional recollections of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
The MP expressed deep emotion as he heard the long-held pain and suffering of riot survivors, many of whom still carry the scars of those dark days.
“Hearing their stories was deeply moving,” Sidhu said. “Tragedies like these leave a mark that time alone cannot heal. Only those who have lived through such horrors truly understand the depth of the pain.”
Sidhu noted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the victims of the 1984 riots have finally begun to receive justice.
“Justice has been long overdue, but it is being delivered now. Prime Minister Modi has always shown deep respect and support for the Sikh community and the Sikh faith,” he added.
