Rs 8.10 Cr Sports Grounds for 31 villages to come up in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, August 3, 2025: Taking a major step towards promoting sports in Punjab, the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has approved the construction of model sports grounds in 31 villages of the Ferozepur Urban constituency at a total cost of Rs 8.10 crore. Ferozepur Urban MLA Ranbir Singh Bhullar shared this information.
MLA Bhullar said the project aligns with the Chief Minister’s broader announcement to develop ultra-modern sports facilities in 13,000 villages across the state. These model sports grounds aim to connect the youth with healthy activities and foster a sporting culture at the grassroots level.
He added that experienced players who have represented Punjab at national and international levels will be appointed as coaches at these facilities to train and guide young talent.
Providing village-wise details, MLA Bhullar shared that construction costs will range from Rs 12 lakh to over Rs 1 crore per location. Notably, Khai village will receive the highest allocation of Rs 1.11 crore, while other significant allocations include Basti Vakilanwali (Rs 53.59 lakh), Dulchi Ke (Rs 49.27 lakh), Gurditiwala (Rs 44.19 lakh), and Bandala (Rs 42.72 lakh).
Villages such as Ali Ke, Arif Ke, Asal, Attari, Bagge Ke Khurd, Bagge Ke Pipal, Basti Bhan Singh, Gokhiwala, Habib Ke, Jaimalwala, Kilanwala, Machhiwara, Nizamwala, Pir Ismail Khan, Rajiwala, Rukne Wala, Sodhianwala, Churiwala, and Gatti Rajo Ke are also among the beneficiaries.
MLA Bhullar emphasised that the Mann-led government is committed to creating world-class sports infrastructure and generating employment opportunities for youth across Punjab. He also appealed to the youth and children to focus on education and sports, and stay away from drugs and other harmful habits.
