DSCW NCC Wing hosts debate on Balancing Tradition-Modernity by 2047
Ferozepur, September 26, 2025: Dev Samaj College for Women organized a debate competition on the topic “Can India Establish Harmony Between Modernity and Tradition by 2047?” The event was held by the NCC Wing in collaboration with the Postgraduate Punjabi Department under the guidance of Principal Dr. Sangeeta and the 5 Punjab Girls Battalion NCC, Moga, led by Commanding Officer Colonel Sunil Kumar. A total of 80 cadets participated.
The competition aimed to inspire students to reflect on India’s journey as it approaches 100 years of independence in 2047, exploring whether the nation can adopt progressive thinking while staying rooted in its cultural heritage.
ANO Lt. Dr. Paramveer Kaur emphasized that modernity without tradition is rootless. She noted that while westernization, the generation gap, and socio-economic inequalities shape society, true progress lies in balancing education-driven modernization with age-old values.
She added, “Both tradition and modernity must coexist. The youth have a vital role in shaping the nation, and it is our responsibility to preserve this harmony for future growth.”
