ANTF Ferozepur seizes over 4 Kg heroin, arrests two traffickers, probe reveals cross-border link
Ferozepur, September 27, 2025: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Ferozepur has seized 4 kg 25 g of heroin and arrested two suspected traffickers in a late-night operation carried out under the state government’s ongoing “war on drugs.”
The arrest was made in Ferozepur during a special operation led by the Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) Ferozepur Range under the supervision of Special DGP and ADGP NTF Punjab, with AIG Sohan Lal Soni heading the team.
The arrested accused have been identified as Akashideep Singh alias Akash of village Mahalla Ghod and Manpreet Singh alias Kalu of village Mansoordeva both from Zira.

According to ANTF officials, the heroin—suspected to have been smuggled from Pakistan via the border area during the recent flood-like conditions—was recovered during a house search. A significant portion was found hidden in a cupboard at Manpreet Singh’s residence.
Preliminary questioning suggests the duo had been involved in drug trafficking for about one and a half years, operating quietly without any prior criminal record. They allegedly received consignments from Pakistani contacts and were distributing the narcotics across Punjab.
A third associate managed to flee during the raid; teams are actively pursuing him. Investigators believe the network may have handled larger quantities than the 4.25 kg seized and expect further recoveries after custodial interrogation.
Senior officers credited the coordinated effort of ANTF field units, technical surveillance teams, and the local police for the swift action. Sub-Inspector Navdeep Singh is the investigating officer.
Authorities reiterated Punjab’s commitment to eradicating drugs “from the roots,” appealing to the public to share any tip-offs. Both accused have been booked under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, and a court has been requested for their remand to widen the probe.
