Punjab CM Mann to inaugurate Netherlands-based De Heus’ Rs 150 cr feed plant; Details Inside

Chandigarh, September 30, 2025: De Heus Animal Nutrition India, a fully owned subsidiary of the Netherlands-based Royal De Heus, has announced the commencement of operations at its world-class animal feed factory in Rajpura, Punjab.
Built at a cost of ₹150 crore, the state-of-the-art facility stands among the largest and most advanced in India and has been completed within two years of its ground-breaking in 2023.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will inaugurate the manufacturing unit on October 1 in the presence of Ms. Marisa Gerards, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to India, Nepal & Bhutan, along with ministers, MLAs, senior officials, and the global leadership of Royal De Heus.
From the company’s side, Mr. Co De Heus, Chairman of the Board, Ms. Rolinda De Heus, MD, PhD, Mr. Johan van der Ban, CEO Asia, Mr. Arno Willemink, Group COO, Mr. Rutger Oudejans, MD India, Mr. Tanveer Malik, COO India, and Mr. Amit Mittan, Commercial Director India will attend the ceremony. Livestock farmers, suppliers, and channel partners will also participate in large numbers.
With an installed capacity of 1.8 lakh metric tons (expandable to 2.4 lakh MT), the plant features two dedicated production lines for cattle & buffalo feed and poultry & pig feed. Equipped with cutting-edge European technology and automation, the facility will produce compound feed, premixes, concentrates, and specialty feeds.
De Heus’ high-quality nutrition solutions aim to optimize livestock growth, reproduction, and production cycles, enabling farmers to improve profitability. The plant is expected to generate over 300 direct jobs and create opportunities for hundreds of local suppliers and partners, while also boosting regional agri-businesses by sourcing raw materials domestically.
The Rajpura unit will cater to markets across Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Western Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, and parts of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.
