Sunam Udham Singh Wala/Longowal, October 7, 2025– Marking a significant step in the development of Sunam Constituency, Punjab Cabinet Minister Aman Arora today inaugurated the upgradation work for 149.02 kilometers of roads across the constituency in a single day. The people of Sunam have hailed this initiative, undertaken through Aman Arora’s dedicated efforts, as a major gift from the Punjab Government to the region.
Addressing gatherings in the villages of Shahpur Kalan, Longowal, Mander Kalan, Ubhawal, and Eilwal, Aman Arora announced that the upgradation of these 48 roads will be completed at a cost of ₹40.12 crore within the next 7-8 months.
He emphasized that, for the first time, contractors will also be responsible for the maintenance of these rural roads for five years post-construction.
Arora assured that no compromises will be made on the quality of these or any other development projects. He urged the local community to actively monitor the progress of these works to ensure satisfactory outcomes.
Reflecting on the Punjab Government’s achievements under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Arora highlighted the state’s commitment to comprehensive development over the past three and a half years.
“The people of Punjab voted for progress, and we are working tirelessly to meet their expectations with clear intent and honest efforts,” he said, adding that he does not believe in making empty promises.
Arora noted that the Punjab Government is prioritizing transformative advancements in healthcare, education, and infrastructure across the state. He acknowledged that previous governments’ misguided policies had hindered Punjab’s progress, but since the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) came to power, holistic development has been a top priority.
The minister emphasized that the demand for these development projects had been raised by villagers for a long time, and the Punjab Government has now fulfilled this commitment.
“Works that remained undone for 75 years are now being prioritized and executed,” he said, adding that he is dedicated to repaying the overwhelming love and support of the people through meaningful action.
Drawing inspiration from his father, Babu Bhagwan Das, Shri Arora stated, “My father taught me that in politics, it’s not about showmanship but about delivering meaningful work.”
He assured that every essential project in the constituency is being addressed on priority, with a goal to clear all pending works within the next year.
Congratulating the residents, Arora reaffirmed his commitment to serve the constituency and expressed confidence that improved infrastructure will accelerate development across Sunam.
When asked about the upcoming Tarn Taran by-election, Arora confidently predicted a decisive victory for the AAP candidate.
The events were attended by Avtar Singh Eilwal, Chairman of the Sangrur Market Committee, Parminder Kaur Brar, President of Longowal Municipal Council, sarpanches and panches from nearby villages, AAP workers, and a large number of local residents.
