Drug peddler opens fire on ASI with snatched service pistol during raid
Ferozepur, November 10, 2025: A police raid in village Naju Sah Wala under Mishriwala turned violent when drug peddler Parvitter Singh, son of Gurditt Singh, allegedly snatched a service pistol and opened fire on the police team. The bullet hit ASI Balwant Singh in the jaw, leaving him seriously injured.
SP (D) Manjit Singh informed that the Kulgarhi Police had received information about drug trafficking being operated by Parvitter Singh. When the police team reached the spot to conduct the raid, the accused’s family attempted to resist and scuffled with the officers. During the confrontation, Parvitter Singh snatched the government pistol and fired, injuring ASI Balwant Singh.
The injured ASI was rushed to a private hospital for treatment and is currently under medical care.
SP added that several criminal cases are already registered against Parvitter Singh. Police teams are conducting raids to arrest him, and he is expected to be apprehended soon.
