“Sardar 150 – Ekta Yatra” held in Ferozepur to mark Sardar Patel’s 150th birth anniversary
Ferozepur, November 14, 2025: A district-level walkathon titled “Sardar 150 – Ekta Yatra” was organised on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, “Mera Yuva Bharat, Ferozepur,” under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, in collaboration with the District Administration.
District Youth Officer Mohit Kumar Saini and Accounts & Programme Supervisor Manjeet Singh Bhullar led the event.
MLA Ferozepur Urban Ranbir Singh Bhullar (PCS Under Training) presided over the event and inaugurated the programme by lighting the ceremonial lamp and flagging off the Ekta Yatra.
Welcoming the chief guest and dignitaries, Manjeet Singh Bhullar highlighted the life and contributions of Sardar Patel and explained the significance of the Ekta Yatra and reminded the students that the nation’s future lies in the hands of today’s youth.
As part of the cultural segment, Dr. Narinderjit Kaur, Head of the Music Department, Ram Sukh Dass College, guided students in presenting devotional and patriotic songs.
Around 600 students and teachers participated in the cultural programme, while about 700 students joined the walkathon. The journey passed through Makhu Gate, Zira Gate, and Baghdadi Gate, returning to the college.
ANO Lt. Dr. Azadwinder Singh, Dr. Amandeep Singh, Dr. Amandeep Kaur, along with Ferozepur Traffic Police, played key roles in facilitating the event.
