Shambhu Border Rally: Farmers back Sikh prisoners' release, Submit memo to Joint Secretary
Shambhu/Ferozepur, November 14, 2025: In solidarity with the Quomi Insaaf Morcha call for a justice march in Delhi and submission of a memorandum at the Prime Minister's House demanding the release of Sikh prisoners who have completed their sentences, the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee Punjab mobilised hundreds of farmers, labourers, and women at Shambhu Border under the leadership of state general secretary Rana Ranbir Singh and state leader-cum-Amritsar district president Ranjit Singh Kler Bala.
Speaking on the occasion, state leader Kanwardeep Saidolehal and Ferozepur district leader Surjit Singh accused the Modi government of continuing its dictatorial policies, stating that the peaceful attempt to reach the national capital and raise voices for rights was blocked today. They noted that the heavy barricading evoked memories of the Delhi Andolan-2 scenes from February 13, 2024.
When asked why no attempt was made to break the barricades like in the farmers' movement, the leaders clarified that since the call was issued by the Quomi Insaaf Morcha, further actions would strictly follow the announcements made by the front's leadership.
Meanwhile, Union Joint Secretary Prashant Lokhande arrived at Shambhu Border and held a meeting with a joint delegation from the National Justice Front and various organisations, including Surjit Singh Phool from KMM and the Chairman of BKU Krantikari. The delegation submitted the memorandum, and the Joint Secretary assured that the matter would be considered. Front leaders announced full support for the calls issued by the National Justice Front in the coming days.
The gathering was attended by leaders from various districts, including Surjit Singh Vasti Ramlal, Arshi Mahina Muktsar, Dilbag Bittu Rakba, along with hundreds of farmers, labourers, and women.
