Quick-thinking Railway staff rescue runaway minor girl on Amritsar–Delhi Intercity
Ferozepur, November 14, 2025: A vigilant railway employee, Parshan Singh, on duty aboard the Amritsar–Delhi Intercity Express (Train No. 14680), successfully ensured the safe return of a runaway minor girl to her family, demonstrating exemplary responsibility and prompt action.
During ticket checks in coaches D1, D2, and D3 near Karnal station, the staff found a lone girl, approximately 13–14 years old. Upon inquiry, the girl revealed that she had run away from home. Recognising the gravity of the situation, he immediately obtained her family’s contact number and coordinated with her relatives in Amritsar.
Thanks to his prompt action, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Panipat was alerted. RPF Constable Rajesh and a female constable arrived at the station, took the girl into safe custody, and ensured that she was reunited with her family after completing the necessary formalities.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Paramdeep Saini stated that the alertness and swift response of TTI Parshan Singh were crucial in ensuring the child’s safety. His actions not only uphold the reputation of the Indian Railways but also serve as a commendable example for all railway staff.
