Chandigarh, November 29, 2025: Punjab celebrated a proud milestone as two cadets from the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI), Mohali — Parasdeep Singh Khosa and Yuvraj Singh Tomar — were formally commissioned as officers in the Indian Navy during the Passing Out Parade (POP) at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, Kerala. The ceremony was reviewed by Chief of Defence Staff, General Anil Chauhan.
Both officers come from strong academic and service-oriented families.

- Parasdeep Singh Khosa, a native of Faridkot, is the son of an educator duo—his mother serves as the Principal of GGS Khalsa School, Bhaloor, while his father is the Director of Guru Nanak Mission Girls College, Baghapurana.
- Yuvraj Singh Tomar, from Jalandhar, also hails from an educational background. His father is the Principal of Dalhousie Public School, and his mother works there as a coordinator and psychologist. His younger brother is currently training at MRSAFPI.
Punjab’s Minister for Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training, Aman Arora, congratulated both young officers for their achievement. He expressed confidence that they would bring honour to Punjab while serving the nation with dedication and excellence.
MRSAFPI Director Major General Ajay H. Chauhan (Retd), VSM, praised the officers, noting that with their commissioning, the institute has now contributed 181 officers to the armed forces, including 22 to the Indian Navy. He said the accomplishments reflect the valour and spirit of Punjab, making this a moment of pride for the landlocked state.
