Chandigarh, December 9, 2025:Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab General Secretary Baltej Pannu launched a scathing attack on the Congress party over allegations of the purported “sale” of the Chief Minister’s chair for ₹500 crore and ₹350 crore.
Addressing a press conference, Pannu demanded that Congress clarify the details behind these claims, which have stirred widespread controversy in the state.
Pannu questioned why the Congress is refusing to answer what he called a “game of ₹500 crore and ₹350 crore,” pointing out that instead of responding, the party first suspended Navjot Kaur Sidhu overnight and later issued a legal notice through Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa. “Will this notice-drama give Punjabis an answer on whether the CM’s chair was really up for sale?” he asked.
He pressed Congress on key issues: the source of the alleged money, whether it was extorted from industries, private schools, hospitals, or collected through “files” as often mentioned by Captain Amarinder Singh. Pannu also raised questions about the two different amounts—₹500 crore for a full 5-year term and ₹350 crore for the remaining term after Captain Amarinder Singh’s removal.
Challenging Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar, Pannu asked him to reveal details, citing that Jakhar, a former Congress president, would know about the alleged ₹350 crore collection and negotiations related to the ₹500 crore deal. He also urged BJP Working President Ashwani Sharma to bring Jakhar and Captain Amarinder Singh together to clarify the matter publicly.
Pannu criticized Congress leaders for remaining silent, including Punjab Congress President Raja Warring, Leader of Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa, and Charanjit Singh Channi, all allegedly linked to the ₹350 crore issue. He further challenged Navjot Kaur Sidhu to present the evidence and files supporting her claims.
Highlighting the lack of accountability, Pannu said, “Instead of answering questions, Congress is issuing notices. Why was no notice sent when allegations were made against Randhawa a few months ago?”
He concluded by demanding transparency and accountability from Congress and BJP leaders alike, insisting that Punjabis deserve clear answers on this alleged political money scandal.
