Amritsar (Punjab), December 9, 2025: District Congress President Sourabh Mithu Madaan has strongly dismissed the allegations made by Navjot Kaur Sidhu regarding alleged ₹500 crore dealings and money-for-posts within the Congress party. Speaking to the media in Amritsar, Madan said there is “not even one percent truth” in these claims and challenged anyone with evidence to present it publicly.
Issuing a stern warning, Madan said that if Navjot Kaur Sidhu does not stop making such statements, he will be forced to make major revelations backed by evidence. Notably, Madan has been closely associated with the Sidhu family in the past.
Recalling the period when Navjot Singh Sidhu served as Local Bodies Minister and was later appointed Punjab Congress President, Madan said no money was exchanged for any position. He stated that such allegations are aimed at damaging the party's image and are “highly unfortunate coming from leaders of such stature.”
He added that if there were any grievances, they should have been addressed within the party forum instead of being aired publicly. He further termed Sidhu’s remarks as part of a “well-planned conspiracy” intended to weaken the Congress and push it closer to the BJP.
“I didn’t pay a single rupee for any post,” Madan asserted, emphasizing that he rose through the ranks purely through his work. After serving two terms as a councillor, the party entrusted him with the position of District President purely on merit.
