Tarun Chugh demands CBI probe into Congress corruption allegations

Chandigarh, December 9, 2025: BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh has demanded a CBI inquiry into the alleged financial corruption within the Congress, following explosive claims made by former MLA Navjot Kaur Sidhu regarding ticket-selling and land-related scandals.
Reacting strongly to Navjot Kaur Sidhu’s allegation that former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa had allegedly sold Congress Assembly tickets in Rajasthan, Chugh said such charges point to “gross financial corruption under the Gandhi family’s leadership” and require immediate investigation.
He also remarked that members of the Gandhi family themselves are out on bail in corruption cases, which makes these disclosures even more serious.
Chugh highlighted another major allegation raised by Navjot Kaur Sidhu involving illegal occupation of protected forest and government land in the Shivalik Range. He questioned why the Congress leadership suspended her precisely when she brought a major land-grabbing and environmental scandal to light—one that allegedly involves powerful political figures.
According to Sidhu’s claims, thousands of acres of Shivalik foothill land—protected under the Punjab Land Preservation Act and forest regulations—are under illegal occupation by VVIPs without proper registry.
Chugh further alleged that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is planning to legalise these encroachments, calling it an attempt to “legitimise environmental crime”. He stressed that the Shivalik belt is ecologically sensitive and cannot be subjected to political land deals.
Demanding a comprehensive CBI probe into the alleged Shivalik land encroachment and proposed regularisation, Chugh said the people of Punjab deserve full transparency: “They must know which VVIPs grabbed protected land and who allowed it.”
