Teacher couple die as car plunges into drain while heading for poll duty

Moga (Punjab), December 14, 2025: A tragic road accident claimed the lives of a couple, both government school teachers, when their car plunged into an open drain in Punjab’s Moga district on Sunday morning. The incident occurred near Sangatpura village in the Baghapurana sub-division.
According to the police, Jaskaran Singh Bhullar (47) was driving his Hyundai Creta to drop his wife, Kamaljeet Kaur (46), for election duty related to the ongoing zila parishad and panchayat samiti polls. While en route towards Mari Mustafa village, the vehicle lost control and fell into an uncovered drain near Sangatpura.
Local residents rushed to the spot and managed to pull both occupants out of the car before shifting them to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared the couple dead on arrival.
