Chandigarh, December 19, 2025: Reports claiming that a Station House Officer (SHO) in Khanna had been suspended were declared false by the Khanna Police on Friday. The clarification came after the news went viral on social media earlier in the day, creating confusion among the public.
According to the viral claim, City Police Station-2 SHO Inspector Hardeep Singh was allegedly suspended following the detention of Akali leader Yadvinder Singh Yadu from a counting centre.
However, Khanna Police promptly issued an official clarification stating that no SHO has been suspended. Police officials categorically denied the reports, stating that no inquiry has been initiated against the SHO, nor has any allegation of negligence been levelled against him.
Terming the reports as baseless and misleading, the police urged media organisations and social media users to verify information before publishing or sharing such news. Officials emphasised that the circulation of unverified information creates unnecessary panic and damages the credibility of institutions.
