Chandigarh, December 21, 2025: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today called on the youth to become job creators rather than job seekers by integrating local skills with modern technology.
He emphasized the state government’s commitment to promoting youth entrepreneurship through initiatives like the Mudra Scheme, Stand-Up India, and special MSME subsidies, while fostering swadeshi technology to boost India’s global standing.
The remarks were made during the inauguration of Swadeshi Mahotsav-2025 in Panchkula.
CM Saini highlighted that in today’s startup era, Swadeshi is no longer limited to traditional products but is also being promoted in modern sectors such as technology, software, defense equipment, and semiconductors.
He noted that Haryana currently has over 12 lakh registered MSMEs, providing employment to approximately 65,000 people.
Under the government’s Padma scheme, the distinctive products of each block will be recognized and promoted as Brand India, both nationally and internationally. Ambala’s scientific instruments, Panipat’s handlooms, and Rewari’s brass crafts are among the local products set for global promotion.
He also highlighted the Haryana State Startup Policy-2022, which aims to create a youth workforce capable of generating employment. Haryana currently ranks seventh nationally in startups, with over 9,500 recognized startups operating in the state.
A Rs 2,000 crore Fund of Funds is being established to support young entrepreneurs in pursuing innovative ideas without financial constraints.
CM Saini said that Swadeshi, historically central to India’s freedom movement, is taking a new direction under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a self-reliant India. He added that India, now the fourth largest economy, is on track to become the third largest, with a $5 trillion economy target by 2030 achievable only when village artisans, self-help group members, and micro-entrepreneurs actively contribute.
More than 65,000 self-help groups have been empowered in Haryana, with millions of women members participating in economic activities. The Chief Minister urged citizens to promote Swadeshi products and adopt a plastic-free and garbage-free Haryana.
Earlier, CM Saini visited stalls showcasing Swadeshi products, offered prayers at the Bharat Mata Temple, and performed Yajna rituals for the prosperity of the state. Participants also took a pledge to adopt five Swadeshi products and renounce five foreign items.
The event was attended by Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma, Kalka MLA Shakti Rani Sharma, former Speaker Gian Chand Gupta, Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal, and other dignitaries, along with numerous members of the Swadeshi Jagran Manch.
