Punjab Government set to launch Rs. 10 Lakh Health Insurance Scheme in January

Chandigarh, December 22, 2025: Bhagwant Mann led AAP government in Punjab is set to launch Rs. 10 Lakh health insurance scheme for all Punjabis in January.
According to sources, Government has finalised United India Insurance company as insurer and around 1000 hospitals are being listed under scheme which will provide health cover to 85 lakh families of the state.
It is learnt that scheme will be launched on January 15, 2026.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had announced to launch this scheme in June. Initially it was announced to launch the scheme in October 2025 but selection process of the insurer company was delayed. This scheme is likely to provide much needed relief to common man as availing health and medical services has become too costly.
