Army rescues youth stranded while hoisting Chola Sahib

Fazilka (Punjab), December 31, 2025: Displaying remarkable courage and presence of mind, the Indian Army’s Amogh Division successfully rescued a youth who got stranded at a considerable height after a wire snapped while he was hoisting the Chola Sahib on the Nishan Sahib at a Gurdwara Sahib in village Gidderanwala.
According to an official spokesperson, the incident occurred when the youth had climbed the Nishan Sahib at the village Gurdwara to perform the religious service of changing the Chola Sahib. During the process, the wire suddenly broke, leaving him stuck at a dangerous height and unable to descend.
The district administration was immediately informed, following which the Army was alerted. Responding promptly, the Army’s Amogh Division launched a well-coordinated rescue operation.
With exceptional bravery and calmness, the rescue team safely brought the youth down. Thanks to the Army’s timely and professional intervention, the youth was rescued without any injuries and is completely safe. No untoward incident was reported.
The Deputy Commissioner expressed special gratitude to the Army’s Amogh Division, lauding their courage, swift response, and presence of mind in successfully handling the situation and ensuring the safety of the youth.
