Chandigarh, January 4, 2026: Several passengers were reportedly injured at Chandigarh Railway Station after the Kalka–New Delhi Shatabdi Express (Train No. 12006) allegedly departed abruptly despite arriving late, according to passengers.
As per reports and accounts shared by travellers, the train halted only briefly after its delayed arrival. When passengers attempted to board, the train reportedly started moving suddenly, causing several people to lose balance and fall on the platform.
In a video circulating on social media, a woman passenger is seen showing bruises on her knees, which she said were sustained during the incident. She reportedly claimed that passengers were not given sufficient time to board and that the train resumed movement without adequate warning.
In response, Indian Railways tweeted via @RailwaySeva, asking affected passengers to share journey details, including PNR or UTS number and mobile number, via direct message so immediate action could be taken. They also advised submitting complaints through the RailMadad WhatsApp Bot, assuring that all reports would be investigated promptly.
