Delhi Assembly Speaker issues Privilege notice to DGP, two other officers in Jalandhar FIR case, seeks reply in 48 hours

New Delhi, January 10, 2026: Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta has issued Privilege notice to DGP Punjab, Special DGP Cyber Cell and Commissioner of Police Jalandhar over FIR registered by Punjab Police in Jalandhar regarding video of Delhi leader Atishi and sought reply from them in 48 hours on the issue.
Addressing a press conference in Delhi Assembly today, Gupta said that video of Atishi Marlena while speaking in Assembly was recorded in Assembly and was sole property of the Assembly. He asked the officers on which basis they got an enquiry initiated and how they can register an FIR regarding a video which is sole property of Delhi Assembly. He said that he had also sought written reply of forensic lab Punjab which gave swift reply in 24 hours about video being ‘doctored.’
He said that has asked officer to reply in 48 hours by August 12 and further action will be initiated after that.
