Ludhiana (Punjab), January 11, 2026: Panic gripped the Ludhiana–Ferozepur Road area on Saturday after two masked assailants on a motorcycle opened fire at a luxury car rental office in broad daylight. The incident occurred near Baddowal around 10.30 am, leaving the glass façade of the office shattered and several high-end vehicles damaged. No injuries were reported, police said.
The firing targeted Royal Limos, a company known for renting premium vehicles such as Mercedes and Range Rover for weddings and special events. Employees were present inside the office at the time but managed to escape unharmed.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the attackers fired seven to eight rounds before fleeing the spot. At least two bullets struck the office’s glass frontage, while others hit the windshields of parked luxury cars, causing significant damage.
Slips allegedly naming two notorious gangsters were found at the scene, indicating a possible link to organised crime and extortion networks. The recovered material has been sent for forensic examination as part of the ongoing probe.
The audacious attack near ITB Chowk triggered fear among nearby shopkeepers and passersby, many of whom ran for cover after hearing gunshots. Security has been tightened in the area, and teams have been deployed to identify and trace the shooters.
