Health Dept holds district-level mega medical camp under PMSMA
Ferozepur, June 9, 2026: A district-level Mega Medical Camp for the special examination of pregnant women was organized today at the Community Health Centre, Mamdot, to mark the completion of 10 years of the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA). The primary objective of the camp was to provide quality healthcare services to pregnant women and create awareness about safe motherhood and institutional deliveries.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Meenakshi Dhingra attended the camp as the chief guest. Senior Medical Officer, Mamdot, Dr. Rekha Bhatti, District Mass Media Officer Sanjeev Sharma, Deputy Mass Media Officer Ankush Bhandari, SI Amarjit Singh, along with medical and paramedical staff, were also present on the occasion.
Dr. Meenakshi Dhingra reviewed the arrangements made at the camp and interacted with the pregnant women. A team of specialist doctors conducted comprehensive health check-ups, provided free diagnostic tests, and distributed medicines free of cost to the beneficiaries. The Mass Media Wing of the Health Department also carried out awareness activities to educate pregnant women and local residents about maternal and child health.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Dhingra highlighted the importance of proper nutrition, balanced diet, and institutional deliveries during pregnancy. She emphasized that regular antenatal check-ups are essential for ensuring the health and safety of both the mother and the child. She stated that the government's initiative aims to ensure every woman’s right to safe and healthy motherhood.
Civil Surgeon and the Senior Medical Officer urged pregnant women and their families to opt for deliveries in government hospitals to ensure the well-being and safety of both mother and newborn.
Among those present were Jaswinder Singh, Pharmacy Officer, Jamuna, Staff Nurse, Rimple, LHV, Mahinder Pal, and other members of the health staff.
