AAP is using religion and politics to divert attention from corruption charges: Kewal Singh Dhillon
Babushahi Bureau
Chandigarh, June 9, 2026: Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon has strongly responded to statements made by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convener Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann against central investigating agencies, stating that the hardworking traders and business community of Punjab will not be misled by political propaganda.
Punjab’s traders are fully aware and understand the truth.
Dhillon said that the question is very simple: Why are several AAP leaders facing serious allegations of corruption? Instead of answering this question, the AAP leadership is attempting to mislead the public by linking legal proceedings with politics and religion.
Defaming constitutional institutions and investigative agencies in an effort to shield corrupt leaders is neither appropriate nor beneficial for democracy.
Questioning Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Dhillon asked why the AAP government is so uncomfortable with action being taken against corruption. Central agencies are merely performing their duties in accordance with the law. If a person is innocent, there is no reason to fear; however, those who have violated the law must be held accountable.
The Punjab BJP President emphasized that the honest traders, businessmen, and industrialists of Punjab are the pride of the state.
The BJP has always remained committed to safeguarding the interests of the trading and business community. Under BJP governments, honest entrepreneurs have received security, respect, and opportunities for growth.
Dhillon further stated that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann should stop using traders as a shield for political gains and instead focus on addressing the growing threats of gangsterism, extortion, and insecurity faced by Punjab’s business community. Traders deserve protection from criminal elements, not political exploitation.
Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon reiterated that the law is equal for everyone. Honest citizens have nothing to fear, while no one can save those involved in corruption.
The Bharatiya Janata Party remains fully committed to Punjab’s development, industrial growth, and the welfare and prosperity of every trader, businessman, and entrepreneur in the state.
