Bathinda, April 25 : Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal today urged the people of Bathinda to strengthen the hands of chief minister Parkash Singh Badal to fast track development in Punjab and ensure grant of liberal funds by a NDA government led by Shri Narendra Modi. Addressing a mammoth gathering at the \"Dadi Poti\" park here, Mrs Badal urged the people of Bathinda to vote for a person and a combination which could make a difference. \"There is no better combination than Shri Narendra Modi and Sardar Parkash Singh Badal\", she said adding \"this is the only combination which can deliver for Bathinda\". Urging the people to exercise their franchise in favour of the SAD- BJP, the mp urged the people not to let go of the golden chance to set everything right. \"It is after a gap of ten years that we stand to have our own government at the centre. \"We should not let this chance go by, she added. The Bathinda mp also asked Punjab Congress leaders who served as Union ministers to explain to the people what they had done for Punjab. \"We had six representatives from the Punjab Congress in the Union ministry. Despite having a Sikh as the Prime Minister of the country, they could get a single project for Punjab. In fact Punjab suffered with no attempt being made to extend any concessions to the poor, create employment opportunities or spend money on revamping the irrigation system in the State\". Mrs Badal said on the other hand despite constraints and discrimination in allocation of central funds, chief minister Parkash Singh Badal had initiated the historic \"aatai daal\" scheme, introduced blue cards for the under privileged and brought in novel schemes like cashless treatment for cancer. Urging the people to recognise who were with them and who against, Mrs Badal said her opponents believed in false statements and false promises only. She also explained it was the earlier Congress government led by Capt Amarinder Singh which was responsible for giving approval for imposition of Property Tax. \"We on our part did not implement this measure for seven years but were finally constrained to do so because the centre refused to release JNURM funds to the State\", she added. Speaking about herself, Mrs Badal said she might be found wanting in few spheres but she could never be found wanting as far as working tirelessly was concerned. \"I left my house and children. I did not care for the heat or the cold. I went to each and every village. I can assure you if re elected again I will work five times more than earlier\". In the end Mrs Badal said the time for change had come. \"Your vote on April 30 will put an end to the Congress led UPA government which is now known as the \"ghotalon ki sarkar\". A vote for Modi Sahab will be a vote for development and a bright future for coming generations,\" she added.
