Chandigarh February 21, 2016: Acceding to the demand made by the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal, the Union Civil Aviation Minister Mr. Ashok Gajjapathi Raju today agreed to start additional flights from Delhi to Chandigarh and Amritsar. During a telephonic conversation with Mr. Raju, the Chief Minister urged him to immediately start flights from national capital to Amritsar and Chandigarh to provide connectivity to the people of the state who were completely cut off from other parts of the country especially Delhi due to wide spread violence and disturbances in Haryana following the issue of Jat reservation. The Union Civil Aviation Minister apprised Mr. Badal that Spice Jet has planned one more additional flight for today to Chandigarh DEL-IXC-DEL with B737 with time schedule of 2035-2130 and 2200-2255. Likewise, he said that other additional flights were being organized in view of Jat agitation, which include Air India’s Delhi (1730) Chandigarh (1910) Amritsar (2035) Delhi, SpiceJet’s Delhi (17.55) Jaipur (1915) Delhi, Delhi (1740) Amritsar (1910) Delhi and Delhi (2035) Chandigarh (2200) Delhi, Jet Airways Delhi (1325) Amritsar (1525) Delhi, Indigo Airline’s Delhi (2125) Chandigarh Delhi and Delhi (2140) Jaipur Delhi.
