Bathinda, August 24, 2017: The Deputy Commissioner Bathinda Mr Diprava Lakra and the SSP Bathinda Mr Naveen Singla today interacted with media giving details about the security arrangements made to maintain law and order of the district.
Mr Lakra appealed all the sections of society to maintain peace and harmony and help the government in doing the same. He said that the district administration and police were ready to deal with any kind of exigency. He appealed the people to stay away from any kind of rumors and half-baked information. Mr Lakra stated that 39 officers have been designated as duty magistrates and have been given different areas to keep vigil over.
He said that two control rooms have been set up in the district. People can approach these phone numbers at 0164-2214006, 75080-21400 and fax numbers are 0164-2219300 and 0164-2240935. He added that these control rooms will work round the clock and their nodal in-charges will be District Revenue Officer and the Assistant Commissioner General.
He added that as per the government orders educational institutes have been closed for August 25 and August 26. He added that keeping in view the urgency of situation, leaves of all the officers have been cancelled till August 31. He said that the district health department has been given instructions to put its emergency services, medicines and ambulances in order. It has also been directed to ensure that the burn units in government hospitals are alerted. The fire brigade has also been directed to remain on toes.
Addressing the media persons, SSP Bathinda Mr Naveen Singla stated that to ensure proper security arrangements, 11 companies of para military forces and adequate numbers of police have been deployed across the district. He added that security has also been spruced around the naam charcha ghar of Dera Sacha Sauda in district. Besides this, the administration and police have been conducting flag marches in the district.
-SECTION 144 IMPOSED IN DISTRICT
Exercising powers conferred to her, the Additional District Magistrate Dr Shena Aggarwal has declared implementation of section 144 in district. Under this, no one is allowed to move with licensed weapon, naked swords or other sharp edged weapons. This ban would remain in effect till Sep 9, 2017. Similarly, the use of fire crackers etc during weddings in the marriage palaces is strictly prohibited and the orders shall remain in force till Sep 5, 2017. Similarly, complete ban has been imposed on taking out procession, raising slogans, holding congregation of more than 5 people, using explosive material etc in public places. The orders shall remain in force till Sep 9, 2017.
-BAN IMPOSED ON OPEN SALE OF PETROLEUM AND ITS PRODUCTS
Exercising powers conferred to her, the Additional District Magistrate Dr Shena Aggarwal has banned sale of loose petrol or diesel in bottles of cans. No one is allowed to store the fuel too. The orders are applicable from Aug 24 to Aug 31, 2017.
-USE OF WIRELESS BANNED
To maintain law and harmony in the district Additional District Magistrate Mrs Shena Aggarwal has issued orders for complete ban on use of wireless system. The orders are not applicable on Punjab police, army, Punjab Homeguards, Railway Protection Force, NDRF, CRPF, other forces and the government officials who carry wireless with them. The orders are applicable from Aug 23 to Aug 31, 2017.
