Confidence building measure by Punjab Chief Minister

Bathinda: 27 August, 2017: Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh is taking tour of the urban and rural areas of Bathinda and Mansa districts, where few untoward incidents took place in the wake of conviction of Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in a rape case by the special CBI Court at Panchkula on 25th August.
It is an effort for confidence building and morale boosting of the security forces and administrative officials, who have done their duty in an earnest way since the last one week. CM during visit at Mansa, Maur, Bathinda, Balluana and Malout met the Paramilitary and Police officials, talked to them and patted them for carrying on their responsibility in admirable way. He covered three districts of malwa region. These were the places where untoward incidents took place in the wake of conviction of Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in a rape case by the special CBI Court.
Talking with media persons at the Lake view guest house, Chief Minister appealed to the people to maintain peace and harmony and help the government in doing the same. He said the state administration is competent to deal with any kind of requirement.
“My aim of this tour is to meet our officers and security agencies, who have done their job in a best way. I came to meet them personally to build their confidence” said Capt Amarinder Singh.
Capt Amarinder Singh said the police have registered 26 FIRs against those who damaged pubic property in violent incidents yesterday. Eight cases had been registered in Mansa, seven in Bathinda and five in Muktsar. He said the Bathinda police had arrested five persons for damaging public property at Balluyana railway station.
Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh patted Inspector General of Police MS Chinna, SSP Naveen Singla, SDM Sakshi Sawhney and DC Muktsar Dr Sumeet Jarangal. He said “They have done exceptional work, which need to be commended”.
“I am thankful to the people, paramilitary & police forces, civil officials for giving full cooperation to maintain and law and order in the state” added Capt Amarinder Singh.
Chief Minister was accompanied by his Finance Minister Manpreet Badal, PPCC president Sunil Jakhar, Media Advisor Raveen Thukral, Chief Principal Secretary to CM Suresh Kumar, Principal Secretary Tejveer Singh, DGP Suresh Arora, Director General Intelligence Dinkar Gupta, and Political Secretary to CM Captain Sandeep Sandhu.
