Amarinder trying to put Sidhu in tight spot, alleges Bir Devinder
Chandigarh, April 14, 2018: Former Punjab Deputy Speaker Bir Devinder Singh on Saturday stated Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh should not bring into play the morality and ethics of his government in taking the position against his cabinet colleague Navjot Sidhu.
Referring to statement of the CM on his government’s stand in Sidhu’s case in the SC, Bir Devinder said the CM should apply the same yardstick in the corruption cases pending against in the courts at Ludhiana and Mohali in which the government took completely reverse stand.
“If Captain Amarinder really has moral courage then he must direct the State Vigilance Bureau to stick to the earlier stand of the State government in corruption cases against him, pending in the courts. And let the Vigilance Bureau and the prosecution stick to the report filed by them under section 173 Cr.PC,” said Bir Devinder.
He alleged the CM adopted double standards to put his own cabinet colleague in a tight spot so that he is able to get rid of him.
