DC Ambala chairs meeting of representatives of Political Parties

Ambala 5 April 2019: Sharandeep Brar cum District Election Officer held a meeting with the representatives of political parties and told them about the implementation of election code of conduct as well as the guide lines of election commission of India for the coming Parliament elections.
She said that it will be ensured that the political parties, candidates and the officials must adhere as per the guidelines of the Election Commission to conduct the elections in free and fair manner.
Addressing the political representatives, DC stated that the permissions for usage of loudspeakers, holding rallies etc has to be taken by applying for the same on Suvidha app. If any political party holds a political activity without permissions, action will be taken as per the law.
She appealed to all the voters to must cast their votes just to save the democracy as every vote plays an important role in forming the Govt. He said that in the Parliament elections VVPAT machines will be used with all EVMs so that the voter may verify that the vote he has cast has gone to the same candidate.
She said that on the eve of coming Parliament elections, the income tax department has set up a control room to check the financial transaction, carrying of cash and the goods for distruibution among voters to lure them.
She stressed for the use of newly introduced Android-based app called “cVIGIL”by Election Commission, which stands for "citizens' vigil" by using it one can secretly send to it geo-tagged videos and photos of illegal money being distributed or a hate speech being made during polls.
Sharandeep Brar said another Portal “MCMC” has been launched to keep a close watch on the paid news menace. She called upon the media to work as a bridge between the administration and the people and should respond positively to help the administration in conducting the forth coming parliamentary elections in free and fair manner.
