Majithia seeks support from members of Bar Association

Bathinda, May 3:
Senior SAD leader and former minister Bikram Singh Majithia on Thursday urged the city lawyers to examine the report card of his sister and union minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal and then take a well informed decision and persuade others too to support her on the basis of her performance.
Addresssing the Bar Association, Majithia avoided any reference to Congress or other rivals and directly solicited support for his sister without mincing words. The lawyers and judiciary are pillars of democracy and should guide the masses in exercising their right to franchise in a judicial manner.
Majithia said that his sister got married to Sukhbir Badal, who eventually became deputy chief minister of Punjab, way back in 1991 and he as young boy used to visit her often in Bathinda which used to be very backward with bad roads and poor civic amenities.
But since then, the city has undergone a sea change with all round development and credit goes to former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and Harsimrat who relentless worked for her constituency firstly as member of parliament for five years and then as union minister when she successfully brought numerous projects for her constituency.
Unfolding the report card of Harsimrat, Majithia mentioned that she has brought central university and AIIMS to Bathinda which would ensure all round development of the region.
Since completion of four phases of polls in the country has confirmed return of Narender Modi government, Majithia said that she would have more dominant role in the new government and would strive to make Bathinda a manufacturing hub ensuring lot of jobs and opportunities for small investors in ancillary units.
Referring to senior Badal, Majithia said that he is senior most politicians in the country and statesman and he has contributed immensely for Punjab in general and specifically for Bathinda.
Bar Association president Kanwaljit Singh Kutty too addressed the gathering stating that PS Badal always conceded their demands and was highly respected not just as tall leader but as a father figure too.
