Amid coronavirus-curfew, DCM Group of Schools begin online classes
Ferozepur, April 8, 2020: When most of the private schools has begun the online classes, DCM Group of Schools have also started its online class, due to sudden coronavirus-curfew imposed in the whole of India, which put to stand-still all the activities at all levels, barring the movement in emergent cases. Among others, the most affected the education of the students of all classes, especially who had planned to go abroad on study visa for higher studies.
The decision to transition classes is a part of an attempt at ‘social distancing’ to slow the transmission of the virus – COVID-19.
But the move has been difficult for the parents who have to sell out a lot of money to buy expensive data packs while teachers are likely to be compensated by the school managements, on this account. But it would definitely be difficult for those parents who cannot afford it. Even otherwise it is a necessary and need of the time; to occupy the students constructively otherwise, the students will be facing academic loss.
In such compelling circumstances, DCM Group of Schools has taken the initiative to extend with the help of the dedicated staff and latest technology available in this digital era, to provide online lessons, by working day and night and students are started responding after being bored from the lock down and stereotype lifestyle from mobile, mobile games and TV shows.
Divulging with the details, Deputy Academics Head, Yogita Puri said, as many as more than 6,000 students have benefitted from online education facility made available to them and this figure is likely to go up with the joining of more students.
She said we have made arrangements for online education under Class to Home Project so they may continue with their studies while sitting at home without any interference.
Another Senior Secondary Head, Lalit Mohan Gupta said, we have also made special arrangements for extending Video Lectures to Plus One and Plus Two students, through school’s own mobile app and Google Class Room and Microsoft Team.
Finance Head, Deepak Monga said in this hour of crisis, the digital technology is proving as ‘Ram Baan’ to the students. Each teacher of DCM Group of Schools has already been given training in this regard.
Shivani Gulati, Senior Executive Human Resource informed the entire staff of DCM is up in arms to extend all kind of help to the students online, from home during the lockdown period.
All parents have appreciated the steps taken by the DCM Group for online education, keeping in view the interest of the students. They are being put wiser about the new technology also during the curfew, which is perhaps the first time in the history of the education system in Punjab.
