Sanitation workers get pat on back and masks from Mayank Foundation
Ferozepur, April 10, 2020: Acknowledging the brave efforts of sanitation workers who are braving the unseen threat of corona virus to pick garbage from every home to keep the city clean, Mayank Foundation - a leading social organization doing yeoman's service during corona-curfew - held a felicitation occasion to honour about 200 sanitation workers of Municipal Council Ferozepur. To ensure their safety while carrying out their duties, masks were also distributed among the workers.
Speaking on the occasion, Deepak Sharma, a founding member of the foundation, said that sanitation workers are helping our society with a great deal to ensure our surroundings stay clean and sanitized. They have continued their duties to pick garbage even during the clamping of lockdown. They are at the doorsteps of the residents early in the morning to take away their garbage. Garbage to the tune of 40 tons is picked daily from the city. So, they deserve applause and acknowledgement for executing such a staple duty of public welfare.
Garlands were also offered to the sanitation workers to applause their efforts. While thanking the foundation for recognizing the services being rendered by these workers, Parminder Singh, Executive Engineer of Municipal Council Ferozepur, said that this gesture will surely do wonders to keep the sanitation employees in high spirits. Respect and recognition to them by the foundation will make them part with their services in more dedication.
He also praised the efforts of sanitary inspectors Sukhpal Singh and Gurwinder Singh and Program Coordinators Simranjit Singh and Amandeep Dhillon of Sanitation Branch.
