Dera Beas followers come forward in anti-Covid-19 fight, deliver 3500 food packets daily in Fazilka
Fazilka, April 11, 2020: Besides arrangements by the Punjab government in the wake of lockdown due to COVID-19, the local various social organization and religious institutions, have also come forward to help the needy.
Earlier, in a major humanitarian gesture, the Radha Radha Soami Satsang Beas and the Sant Nirankari Mission had offered to Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh the use of their Satsang Ghars and Nirankari Bhawans in Punjab in the state’s battle against COVID-19.
Around 3500 food packets by Radha Swami Satsang Beas are being distributed to the poor families in the villages around the city.
Appreciating the efforts of the religious institution for this noble cause, Deputy Commissioner Arvinder Pal Singh Sandhu said, Dera Beas has high status in the field of social service and role in this hour need to be recognized.
DC said, the district administration is making all-out efforts to provide the ration to the poor and needy families and in this crisis, the cooperation of religious and social organization is a good sign.
Organizers of Dera Beas said, around 1700 food packets in the morning and 1800 in the evening are being delivered at the door steps of poor families, on daily basis, prepared by the followers of Dera Beas, by keeping in mind the cleanliness and following other precautionary measures.
