Fatehgarh Sahib. April.11, 2020: Shri Guru Granth Sahib World University’s teachers have started providing online teaching to the students through various online media such as WhatsApp, Zoom Cloud Meeting, Google Classroom, etc, in the wake of COVID-19 Threat, said Vice-chancellor Dr. Prit Pal Singh. He said that the links related to the students’ subjects are also being shared from UGC/MHRD platforms such as NPTEL, e-paathshala, Swayam Spoken Tutorial, etc., to intensify this teaching process. In addition, students are constantly being provided with assignments, video lectures and other supporting study material.
He said that due to lockdown, he is holding online meetings regularly with the Heads of the various departments to discuss the University's students' online education and other related issues. During the meetings, detailed information about online teaching, being conducted by different departments, is obtained so that the entire arrangement can be managed smoothly. In the future, online examinations are also being considered. Dr. Singh said that while all the instructions being given by the Punjab Government from time to time are being fully followed, the students have also been made aware of the current situation by the heads of the various departments. He highly appreciated these efforts and stated that whatever further steps would be required for the education of the University students will be taken promptly in the coming time. Sharing the information further, he said that online registration has been started through the University website (www.sggswu.edu.in) in view of the convenience and enrollment/admissions of the students.
