Fatehgarh Sahib. April.12, 2020: The residents of the district heaved a sigh of relief as the health department through a status report of COVID-19 declared that 25 close contacts of two positive Jamaati women of the district out of 33 tested were reported negative, whereas the results of 8 are awaited. Luckily no new fresh case has been reported in the district for the last one week.
Dr. N.K.Aggarwal Civil Surgeon in a press release said that there are only two positive case in the district and both are Jamaati women activists belonging to Aurangabad and they have been admitted in Gian Sagar Hospital Banur. He said these women along with other 11 Jamaatis visited Sanipur Village near Sirhind, Sanghol and Maneli villages in Khamano sub division. He said the samples of 33 close contacts of these women were taken and they were hospital isolated. He said now the reports of 25 have been tested as negative, whereas the reports of other 8 are awaited.
He said that 834 NRIs came to district and all have been traced and out of these 818 have passed 14 days home quarantine limit, whereas 16 are still under home quarantine. He said all 59 visitors who came from Hazur Sahib and 154 who attended Holla Mohalla are still under home quarantine. He said that 32 Jamaatis came to district and two of them were found positive. He said that as of now 33 samples of close contact of these two positive were taken and 25 were tested negative and result of rest is awaited.
