I met Baljinder Sekha the very first time in Toronto.
He is a very hard working and dynamic personality. His keen interest in Social service is his natural tendency. Baljinder Sekha is always eager to invent new ideas. We can say he is not only an all rounder artist but also has great versatility to anything. He is very well known as a singer as well as a famous comedian who always gives a social message in his comedy. He writes very heart touching poetries too. While doing social services for the community he always inspires people to do blood donation as well as to be a donor after death. Baljinder Sekha was born in village Sekha Kalan. His dad’s name is Sardar Gurdev Singh and mother’s name is late Charanjit Kaur. A well known Kabaddi player Kewal Sekha from Harjeet Bajakhana team was his best friend but he lost him in a car accident. Baljinder loved music from his childhood. Baljinder did a lot hard work in music Industry. He worked as an assistant for long time in a famous music company CMC owned by singer Late Raj Brar.
In 2002 Baljinder moved permanently to Toronto. In his busy life where he started working to meet his needs, he also kept himself active in participating any of the activities he could do for humanity. He has been always the very first in row to do something good for his community as well as in all the social services in Canada. Living in a foreign country his passion to work for the community brought a new thought in his mind when he launched a Sikh Heritage month button. The whole community was very impressed at his thought to make a special recognition for the Sikhs in Canada. Everyone in the Sikh community was very proud of him at his hard work. Along with people of Moga the whole Indian community salutes his dynamic thought to make a special recognition of sikhs in a foreign country.
With the help of his friend Satpal Sekha he released a sad song “Ma” by music director Dilkhush Thind. This song was very touching. It was liked in India as well as in Canada.
On Canada day July 1st 2017 Baljinder Sekha released another Punjabi song on 150th Canada day which actually was very popular in Indian as well as Canadians. This was a precious gift to Canada in his mother tongue.
This song was telecasted on CBS and CTV for whole day on Canada day. This song was released in French as well as in English too.
Indian and Canadians loved this song and appreciated Baljinder hard work on this song. Everyone congratulated and felt proud on him.
Baljinder Sekha created a thankful Memento of “Kama gaata maaru” and sent to Canadian government and prime minister Justin Trudeau. It was presented to Harjeet Singh Sajjan on Professor Mohan Singh Mela in Surrey BC. We hope this memento will be in a museum as a memory one day. After his mother’s death from cancer he donated his mother’s eyes which lightened two blind people’s life. This proves that Baljinder Sekha is a very honest about what he says and what he does. After his death he himself promised his body to be donated to a medical center. The whole Punjabi community of Canada as well as India is proud of him and in future too. May God bless bless him with a long life to this dynamic person.
