The day-to-day changing equations of Punjab government have created such an atmosphere that in protest against the political parties ruling in the past on alternative basis, there are chances of uniting of certain parties for the third change. Strong protest of the Akali-BJP alliance ruling for the next term could help in changing the equations during the elections.
The ruling party has to take the shelter of advertisements to show its development in the past nine years and this strategy is adopted only for sinking ships and signals are given with ‘white flags’ atop the ship or in other words called an SOS message – Save Our Souls.
Secondly, the ruling party has nothing else to show to the people, to save the sinking ship. The ruling party will field twenty new candidates who are known only to the Deputy Chief Minister and the question arises, as to whether the exiting MLAs would accept this term and campaign with them for seeking vote from the people? These questions are not now quite visible and they would go against them as in the case of Sangrur Lok Sabha seat opposing Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa.
In fact, the political parties are waiting for the announcement of Model Code of Conduct rather the people of Punjab is more curious and moving with grease on their palms. The increasing resentment among the people is not visible as they are still under stress and not sharing their mind. They are just ‘Yes Men” for every political party approaching them. But one thing is clear about what is in the mind of the people, which could be known only after the implementation of ‘Model Code of Conduct’. The insecurity among them is to such an extent, which cannot be guessed from their faces. Similar is the position of political parties, as to which will be the next government?
The hot waves blowing within the Aam Aadmi Party are not cooling.
The recent controversy over the allotment of tickets and removing of Suchha Singh Chhotepur from the post of convener and others itself speaks that AAP which cropped up as the leading Third Party in Punjab, is moving towards the border lines. AAP has been divided into two parties and Suchha Singh Chhotepur – now being called as Khottepur – Impure –has started the march of change in Punjab, to establish his existence and to counter it, Arvind Kejriwal, AAP Supremo has also planned his tour to Punjab. However, the protest against Kejriwal from Delhi to Punjab have opened a new chapter.
Not only this, few days back, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Pargat Singh and Bains Brothers have also established Fourth Front in Punjab by forming the Awaz-e-Punjab. No doubt, this front has not been supported by any other discarded leaders group, perhaps with the intention to grab the votes which could go against the ruling party – Akali-BJP alliance. It is now a talk of the town that projecting of such new fronts in Punjab by the Sangh could puzzle the voters in the State.
On the other hand, a group of people in the form of Sarbat Khalsa come up after the disrespect cases of Holy Books, are also active to take part in the coming Assembly elections in the State, which will be cleared in the next few days. But they will concentrate only few seats instead of all 117 seats, which could be or have chances of win-win situation, due to the fact that contesting elections now a day is not an easy task being too expensive and their only aim is to protect themselves as single party in the government on having the foreign support.
Frankly speaking, the solution to these problems is only if all other ‘Panthak’ parties join hands at one platform against the ruling party by chalking out make-or-break policy to honour this plan and if it is matured then the people can get rid of both these unaccepted political parties, as of now – Akali-BJP and Congress to give fillip to Third or Fourth Fronts.
However, it all depends upon the real followers of Sikh religion to take out the Punjab from ‘drugs and crimes’ atmosphere for which we have to wait for some more time to get a clear picture of political moves going on in the State. Over to time!
