Jalandhar, November 19, 2020: Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s son Raninder Singh appeared in Jalandhar based zonal officer Enforcement Directorate (ED) office on Thursday morning concerning alleged possession of undisclosed assets abroad.
He was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a 2016 case registered against him under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA). Singh has been asked to explain the alleged funds to Switzerland along with the creation of trust and few subsidiaries in the British Virgin Island.
Pertinently, Raninder was earlier summoned by the ED on November 6 but he skipped the summon on health ground, requesting adjournment in the matter.
Earlier, he was to appear before ED on October 27 but he did not appear claiming that he had to attend the meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee as a president of National Rifle Association of India.
