Nawanshahr January 11, 2021: Member of Lok Sabha and former Union Minister Manish Tewari and MLA Nawanshahr Angad Singh today launched multi-crore projects to change the face of the ancient and historic city of Rahon.
In the presence of Punjab Large industrial Development Board Chairman Pawan Dewan and other dignitaries, he inaugurated the construction of a new building of the Municipal Council Office at a cost of Rs. 1.50 crore. Apart from initiating various other development works worth crores of rupees for the rejuvenation of the city, he also handed over large machinery to the city council to improve the sanitation system of the city, including crushers, baling machines, bait remediation machines etc.Similarly, in all those cities, he also started the work of installing 1000 L.E.D lights.
Speaking on the occasion, M. P , Manish Tewari said that Rahon would be made an exemplary city. He told the residents of Rahon that he had handed over the reins of the city to a hardworking and energetic young leader who was working day and night for the transformation of the city. He said that with such a leader he had no need to worry for the betterment of the city.
MLA Angad Singh said that no stone would be left unturned in the overall development of Rahon. He said that at a cost of crores of rupees an initiative has been taken to beautify the city and complete the required development works ,all the development works would be completed within the stipulated time.
He said that the love given to them by the people of Rahon would be appreciated by completing development works.
Mr. Chaman Singh Bhanmajra, Chairman, Marketing Committee, Mr. Harmesh Kaur, Chairperson, Zila Parishad, Mr. Joginder Singh Bhagaur, Mr. Lakhveer Singh, E.O Rajiv Sareen, prominent personalities of the area were also present.
