Hoshiarpur: Sunder Sham Arora dedicates Oxygen Plant having capacity of 1000 LPM
Hoshiarpur, July 19, 2021: Punjab Industries and Commerce Minister Sunder Sham Arora on Monday dedicated a newly built oxygen generation plant in the premises of Civil Hospital having a capacity of 1000 LPM.
After dedicating the plant, the Minister said that this unit would ensure sufficient and continuous oxygen supply to every bed in the COVID ward.
He said that the plant had been established under the requisite guidance of DRDO and NHAI, which would prove to be immensely beneficial for critical patients.
The plant has been set up at a cost of around Rs 1.40 crore, said the Minister adding that besides COVID-19 patients other critical ones could also get a supply of oxygen in emergent situations.
Sunder Sham Arora pointed out that Punjab Government had further strengthened the healthcare infrastructure in the Civil Hospital intending to contain the spread of the Coronavirus efficaciously.
The Minister said that patients were being offered ultra-modern healthcare services especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic and now the facility of CT scan for masses will be operational shortly in the hospital. He said that the CT scan facility would also ensure big relief for the patients.
Two x-ray units of 300 MHZ and 500 MHZ were already providing requisite healthcare facilities to patients, said the Minister adding that the people could get advanced healthcare services in Civil Hospitals.
Elaborating about the problems being faced during the first and second COVID wave for the availability of life-saving gas, the Minister said that the Punjab Government had started the process to establish this plant, which would ensure sufficient supply of gas to further saving people from COVID-19 and other serious ailments.
He said that under Mission Fateh of the Punjab Government several significant steps were being taken and implemented including free check-ups and treatment of COVID-19 patients etc. He said that the Government Medical Colleges had been equipped with modern facilities to save precious lives with ramping up infrastructure besides ensuring ventilator facilities.
