Ferozepur: Narcotic Cell recovers 5.100 kg opium from Container
Ferozepur, July 28. 2021: The Narcotic Cell of Ferozepur police have recovered 5.100 kg opium from the container carrying 8 cars of Tata company.
SSP Bhagirath Meena in a press conference informed that a tip-off was received by the police during the routine patrolling and checking and working swiftly on this, intercepted a container No.RJ-25 JE 3540 loaded with 8 cars of Tata Company and recovered 5.100 kg opium. The driver Shekhawat who was to supply this consignment to Suraj Kumar, was arrested with a container while Suraj Kumar is yet to be arrested.
He said, during the investigation, Shekhawat had admitted that during the last one and a half month, two times delivery has been given to Suraj Kumar and taking Rs.10000 per kg. The opium was being collected from the person from Kishangarh (Rajasthan) introduced by him. More clues are likely to come on surface during the course of inquiry on police remand.
As per the record, Suraj Kumar is already involved in a case of 3 kg opium recovery under NDPS Act during September 2013 and was awarded 10 years sentence and Rs.1 lac fine but he is presently on bail from October 9, 2018.
