Chandigarh: Fire incident reported in PSA Oxygen Generation Plant, GMSH-16

On the intervening night of January 8 and 9, a minor fire broke out in the PSA Oxygen Generation Plant in GMSH-16 here.
As per the administration, by using the fire-extinguisher to douse the fire by Chaman Lal, Security Guard and the raise of timely alarm, the damage could be contained to the pre-fabricated structure. There is no damage to the PSA Plant and it is completely safe. Prima facie, electric short circuit seems to be the reason for the fire incident.
Yashpal Garg, Secretary Health along with Ms Suman Singh, DHS and V.K. Nagpal, MS of GMSH-16 inspected the PSA Oxygen Generation Plant. The Executive Engineers and other concerned officers of the Engineering Department of UT Administration were also present during the inspection. The Engineers of the company arrived and assessed the damage. UPS, Junction Box and few pipes are being replaced by the Maintenance Company. The damaged electric wires are being replaced by the Engineering Department of UT Administration. The PSA Oxygen Generation Plant has been closed and will be re-started after all repairs/replacements of the damaged equipment.
