Election Staff must perform polling duty with total responsibility and non-partisanship -Patiala DC

Patiala, January 22, 2022: The DC-cum-District Election Officer Sandeep Hans has directed the electoral staff to undertake polling duties on 20 February 2022 with full accountability and impartiality.
He observed that only a fully equipped, trained, and confident electoral staff will be able to discharge hassle-free duty.
The First Rehearsal of the staff on election duty was conducted in the 8 constituencies of the district viz. Patiala Urban, Patiala Rural, Rajpura, Ghanaur, Sanaur, Nabha, Samana, and Shutrana, wherein the workforce with only one shot of covid vaccine was administered the second dose, those unvaccinated were given the first vaccine shot while the fully vaccinated staff were given the booster dose. Covid tests were also conducted for the symptomatic personnel.
The rehearsal proceedings were supervised by the concerned Returning Officers in all constituencies – Patiala Rural by ADC Gautam Jain in Thapar University, Patiala Urban by SDM Charanjit Singh in Government Bikram College of Commerce, in Sanaur constituency by Ms. Jasleen Kaur Bhullar in Government Polytechnic College, in Ghanaur by S. Manjeet Singh Cheema in Punjabi University, in Rajpura by SDM Dr. Sanjeev Kumar in Patel Memorial National College, in Shutrana constituency by SDM Ankurjeet Singh in Govt. Kirti College Nial Patran, in Samana by SDM T. Benith in Public College, in Nabha by SDM Kanu Garg in Govt. Ripudaman College, respectively.
During the rehearsal, all instructions about the election process cataloged by the Election Commission of India were duly elucidated for the polling personnel.
They were instructed about the voting machines and related paraphernalia to be used by the Presiding and polling officers on the day of voting.
