Moga, April 7, 2022:
Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh has appealed to the residents of District Moga to beware of such swindlers who are cheating the people by showing various greeds on the phone or in the name of financial help. It is pertinent to mention that this matter has been brought to his notice by Amritpal Singh Sukhanand, MLA Baghapurana. It was taken very seriously by the Deputy Commissioner.
Disclosing this here, Kulwant Singh said that by calling some people it has been shown to them that Rs. 9 lakhs would come into their bank account out of which a particular amount would have to return online. To confirm this, the person concerned is also given the good news by a fake phone call from the bank. The amount of Rs 3.86 lakh (or any amount) demanded by the person in trust is also sent online to the swindlers. However, nothing came into his/her account.
He said that apart from this these swindlers call people and ask for money in the name of treatment of any ailment or financial help but later it is found out that they have been created. The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the residents of the district to be aware of such calls. Even if it means helping someone financially, all the facts should be checked before helping.
Instead of falling into such a trap, the matter should be brought to the notice of the district administration or the police. He clarified that the matter would be taken very seriously. If found guilty, strict action will be taken against them as per law.
