Jalandhar: Adm appoints 48 Retired Patwaris recruited on contractual basis

Jalandhar, June 18: In order to bring more efficiency in the functioning of revenue department, the District Administration on Saturday appointed 48 retired patwaris on contact basis for one year and each of them given the charge of three patwar circles in the Jalandhar.
Giving further details, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that selected candidates would be paid a fixed salary of Rs. 25,000 per month and with their recruitment, the working in nearly 150 patwar circles would be made more seamless to facilitate the people for their routine works in revenue department.
Thori also said that the appointments have been made purely for rural areas and the selected patwaris would not be authorized to directly make any kind of changes in the revenue records as they would work only through their respective ASMs/DSM.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner informed that Punjab government had also extended the date of submitting applications from retired patwaris till June 30 to fill the vacant posts.
He said that the maximum age for applying for this post is 64 years. There will be no criminal case or departmental enquiry against the applicant, who is applying for this purpose, he added.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the eligible retired patwaris could submit their applications in room no 212, Sadar Kanoongo Branch at District Administrative Complex by 5 pm of June 30, 2022.
Thori added that the applicants have to attach a copy of their retirement orders issued by the competent authority besides an affidavit stating both they were never convicted by any court of law nor any criminal case, FIR and enquiry was pending against them.
