Kapurthala: DC directs officers concerned to complete Smart City projct on war footing
Reviews the ongoing development works in the holy city

Kapurthala, July 26, 2022: Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal has today directed the officials concerned with Smart City Projects at Sultanpur Lodhi to ensure the completion of the work of these projects on a war footing to facilitate the lakhs of pilgrims coming to the holy city.
Chairing a review meeting of the Smart City projects here today, Deputy Commissioner said, “It is very important to complete these projects within the stipulated time for the convenience of the pilgrims and local people".
He asked the SDM Sultanpur Lodhi, XEN Sewerage Board, and Water Supply Department to take stock of the beautification being carried out along the banks of Bein in Jalandhar so that the work on the holy Bein can be done on the same lines.
The Deputy Commissioner also asked the officials for PWD, PSPCL, and Forest department to speed up the work on 4 lanning of roads connecting Sultanpur Lodhi.
It’s worth mentioning here that the road from Dudwindi to Sultanpur (about 6 KM) and from Mundi Mor to Sultanpur (about 17.40 km) is being converted into four-lane to establish better road connectivity with this holy city.
He asked the electricity board officials to complete the work of removing the poles from both sides of the roads in a time-bound manner.
Meanwhile, officials of the forest department apprised DC that about 70 % of the work has been completed.
Deputy Commissioner also evaluated the process of installing bottle crushing machines and water ATMs (for the supply of drinking water) at Sultanpur Lodhi.
He also issued necessary guidelines regarding developing the Government Girls Smart School at a cost of about Rs.2.44 crore and setting up a ( ICCC ) Integrated Command Control Center at a cost of about Rs.2 crore.
Under the establishment of ICCC, CCTV cameras would be installed in the entire city besides connecting them to the central control for keeping an hawk eye on the city .
He also asked the officials of the Sewerage Board to complete the replacement of the old pipes within the city as required.
On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Anupam Kler, SDM Sultanpur Lodhi Randeep Singh and officials of other departments were present.
